My Nana
passed away two days ago. I never really got to know her and the last time I saw her was when I was in elementary school. We were leaving my grandparents house in Taiwan and she ran down the stairwell and put a wad of cash in my hands telling me to give it to my parents. That’s my only memory of her. A decade or so later she’d collapse and pass away on that same stairwell.  I’m...

My Christmas List
gets shorter and shorter each year…it could imply any of the following things: 1. I’m getting cheap 2. I’m getting cheaper 3. I’m starting to hate more people 4. More people are starting to hate me 5. I’m at a time in my life where I’m reevaluating friendships and I just CUT YOU.

Lessons Learned Courtesy of a First Semester Grad...
1. Nothing is ever really finished, it’s just due. (I think I stole that from someone). 2. Be humble. The harshest criticism can be the fuel to persistence. 3. No matter how great technology becomes, it’s never reliable.  4. Make sure you hit the record button. It’s not as obvious as it seems… 5. It doesn’t have to be perfect. 6. Seriously. 7. Get over...

Anxiety Oriented Day
Today I had the first day of my orientation at USC Annenberg. It was crazy. It was amazing. It was epically epic. But as goes the story, I had major panic attacks. I expected it, but I started the day in submission to God and His outline for the day. I wanted it to be a day where God was in control and not me, whatever the outcome of that may be. I haven’t had a crazy panic attack like...

Who the Heck is the Independent Woman
Today I got to thinking about the whole appeal of being an independent woman. I feel like there are two parts to this “independent woman” that I battle with: first is I want to be one and second is why do I want to be one? I mean just the title itself is a statement right? Independent woman who can provide for herself, who is self sufficient, who doesn’t need a man to give her...

Mental Repeat
I feel super overwhelmed but I know that however hard all this is God is going to reveal Himself in big, big ways. So God, how can I partner with You today? Because I’d much rather be vulnerable to Your Spirit and nature than to the worldly nature of things.  Now, let’s put that on mental repeat! AMEN!

Let Go
I have such a hard time dealing with mistakes I make. I get so obsessed and down about them. I don’t know why I get so caught up and dwell and linger on even the little, trivial mistakes I make. I just expect so much from myself that one mistake throws me completely off. Like I can’t forgive myself or I say to myself why didn’t I remember that or why am I so stupid or what will...

A Good Laugh
I always get a good laugh when my parents FOB out. Today for example: me: dad what movie are you watching? dad: a movie about the IRS. me: (looking up at the TV) you mean the IRISH?  Then that reminded me of when we went to IHOP a couple months ago: mom: i want some crap-pees me: (looking at the menu) you mean CREPES? gotta love my parents. hoping for many many more of these moments...

Am I
EAGER to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace? (Ephesians 4:1-3) OUTDOING others in showing honor and brotherly love to one another? (Romans 12:10) TAKING the form of s servant and putting the interest of others before my own? (Phil 2:3-7)
